Beats by Dre — Interactive retail demonstrations to strengthen product storytelling.
Beats by Dre approached us to design a retail application that consumers can use to learn more about the brand and its products while shopping at brick-and-mortar locations.
In addition to helping the brand transform its .com flagship, we were asked to think about how our experience strategy could cross over to the physical retail space in a unique and immersive way while streamlining operational efficiencies and blurring the lines between digital and tactile.
Because the application would be deployed at stores across the country, we needed to establish a framework that would enable the Beats team to refresh content, adapt assets, and easily integrate at new locations. To solve this challenge, we built the app using the same design system as the overhauled .com flagship, with specific features and components for various use cases.
To merge brand inspiration and product demonstration, we created a shopping utility that works in tandem with the physical product without being a distraction to customers. The application enables users to explore alternative colors, compare products, learn about features in context, and immerse themselves in Beats content.
